It is difficult to talk about the city of Alicante without identifying it with the Paseo de la Explanada. With a length of half a kilometer, this promenade is the old boardwalk of the port that runs in front of the sea escorted by palm trees. It is the floor that makes it so special, with 6 and a half million square tiles of 4 cm each and in three colours: Alicante red, ivory cream and marquina black, forming waves that simulate the waves of the sea that bathe the city.
In the logo, the waves of this mosaic make up the reticulated wings of a dragonfly, an ancestral character in winged insects, as ancient is this emblem of the city that is hosting the XX Iberian Congress of Entomology.
